Last week was quite the fashion show party here in Austin. I attended three events that reflected three different Austinite styles: Fabulous, Fine, and Fanatical.
The Fabulous ran wild at none other than the WERK: The Austin Pride Fashion Show featuring designers from Project Runway. Local favorite Daniel Esquivel (@dano_esquivel), all smiles, greeted fans before the show and even gave me a shout out for my BAVA bohemian dress and rockin’ knee-high lace up boots. #MadeMyDay !
Ross Bennett, another local fave who starred in NBC’s Fashion Star, got the crowd roaring with a topless menswear show. That’s right– eye candy wearing pants and shorts that even my husband would try on. I love it when designers style men to look sexy instead of adgrogoneous. ((clap, clap, clap)) Of course, no show is complete without statement shoes, and Roosevelt Cevallos didn’t let us down. In fact, one might say he was a “shining” example of over-the-top stompers.
PHOTOS WILL BE AT THE WERKFASHIONSHOW.COM SOON!
It took two days to recover from the rainbow runway. Just in time to hit Dillard’s at Barton Creek Mall for the oh-so-fine POLO Ralph Lauren clothing line premiere and fashion show. Only Dillard’s BC is carrying this line. Attendees received 20% off retail pricing (which ranges from $49 to $350 per garment) and I snagged the gorgeous buttercup yellow wool blazer with brown sued elbow patches and the cream cable knit over-sized sweater. These clothes are perfect for switching from work to play this fall/winter season. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find. Call me for styling help!!
If you’ve been to a University of TX football game, you know people are fanatical about dressing for the occasion. I had the pleasure of emceeing the UT Club’s UT Co-Op Fashion Show, featuring gear for UT games, urban workouts and even slumber parties. From women’s jersey’s, to Longhorn cowboy boots (profits go toward scholarship funds), to running leggings and blingy hats to jewelry and handbags. If you bleed burnt orange, shop at the co-op! My two faves:
