I could just say “pack black” and be done with this whole post. But that just wouldn’t be my style, literally and figuratively. I own one casual black dress and one black cocktail dress and reserve them for cool weather nights. Black isn’t my daytime neutral, and it absorbs the Texas heat like an egg under a magnifying class.
So, what to pack for NYC in the summer?
I chose to wear my favorite neutrals with black accents to give me that New York vibe while staying true to my own Signature Style. Rather than a black dinner dress, I opted for red– sexy and a perfect match for my black Louboutin’s that were screaming to hitch a ride. Daytime comfortable yet chic shoes are ESSENTIAL in this city, so the heels only came out for a fancy dinner. Accessories had pops of color and edgy prints (McQueen skulls, insects).
Here’s a summer weekend wardrobe capsule you can pack for NYC that will take up little room in your suitcase because it all mixes and matches. Unbutton the shirt dress to wear as a duster with shorts or jeans. Pack a couple of neutral t-shirts, too!
